Decisions, decisions, decisions. What all starts with what seems like a simple idea, whether it is renovate to a new kitchen, update a bedroom, completely gut a bathroom, put an addition on or create an outside living space — the main goal is to create spaces that enhance our lives and where we live. They create efficiencies, beauty, joy, and warmth. As projects get underway, set in motion, as the frame work gets complete, structures built, substrates installed, furnishings brought in, personal touches are properly placed, there is one pure element of magic that brings everything all together, it is, light.

It may come naturally through a window, always changing, from sunrise to set — through the seasons. And within each room — the choice of light enhances the effect on so many levels, on our mood and how we feel in these spaces ( calm, soothing, cozy, warmth, airy, free, gentle and so on) Light can be used to bring out details, direct our eye and attention of where to look, frame a space, bring in the outside and sky above, transition from room to room, greet us in the morning and allow us to turn down gently at night.
